Arm chair 'Oresund-series' in oak and harness leather
This refurbished arm chair from the ‘Oresund-series' designed by Børge Mogensen in 1955 is in solid oak with the seat and back rest in vegetable tanned harness leather of the best quality.
All cutting, stitching and treatment is done by hand, and the edges have been polished and burnished with wax.
The seat has a layer of linen canvas to create extra support.
Ash – lye and soap
Leather – conditioner
Very similar to the Spanish Dining Chair from 1958. When designing the chairs, Børge Mogensen was inspired by a medieval Spanish furniture technique in which saddle leather was attached to a solid wooden frame. This was a technique he often used in his designs, and both the Oresund arm chair and the The Spanish Dining Chair consist of a simple oak frame and beautiful saddle leather forming the seat and backrest.
This chair was manufactured by Karl Andersson & Söner.
